You May Be Right... I May Be Crazy

The hours are quickly ticking down until I line up once again to take a 26.2 mile trek across a city.
The Wichita Marathon is this Sunday, October 21. I've been training for a solid 18 weeks and I don't think I could be much more ready.
There is just a few more things I need, and I need them from you.
I will be running alone this time and I need some new tunes to keep me motivated and pumped. ITunes has every song you could suggest, so bring it on, I really need some help.
The last request, and surely the most coveted, is your prayers. God has been faithful to see me through every training run and many races in between, but a lot can happen in 26.2 miles. I greatly desire your prayers, please.

I will leave you with this. Many people can't quite grasp why I love this pending trial, and honestly there aren't many words to describe it. I think this video might give you a small insight in to what makes me tick.

See you on the other side of the line, Lacy

  1. Once again I say to you, good luck. I'm sure you've heard this said before, but I was reminded of it just today, "Character is best shown by what you do when no one else is looking or when you don't expect anyone else to be looking." For all those miles that no one sees - that's what makes you. Medal or no, I love you the same. Go get 'em.

I would suggest "The Fragile Army" by Polyphonic Spree. The entire album is really just one big song, but every track is incredible. Matisyahu live at Stubbs is pretty fun too. By the way, this is Andy. Let me know if you need help getting this music. I can help.

ok. ok. Pavement "elevate me later" on the Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain album. Interpol "Untitled" on the Turn on the Bright Lights album. ALSO, the entire TV on the Radio album (not the new one), but there's this song "Staring at the Sun". (it's a good one) GOOD LUCK LACY JAYE!!

  4. Good Luck Lacy! Dave and I were talking and he tends to listen to heavier music while running--38th Parallel, Skillet, etc. I tend to accomplish things with a little more pep in my step. This morning I heard Run by Collective Soul and thought of you. It amuses me, but I don't know if you'd be as amused by "I've got a long way to run" in the middle of your marathon. They have some other good ones too. I also listen to AM Radio, Wonderful, and Brown Eyed Girl by Everclear. I know there are others--I heard a couple of new Vineyard worship songs that sounded like they might get me going. I definitely need to update my playlist as well -- to haul my heinie a mile or two. :) I truly do admire you!
