So Much Stuff!

Since my wonderful husband gave me my awesome Fuji Z-1 pocket sized camera last year, naturally we still take a boat load of pictures.
There's a lot of great ones that don't have much of a story, but nice things to look at none the less.
So, I give you, a blog with very little writing and lots of pictures! Enjoy!

These weren't our pictures, but I just had to share. As I finished the marathon last month, there were tents filled with all sorts of food. Being a "choosy" person anyway and having just run 26.2 miles, I wasn't very hungry. My family was however. Since the runner is the only one welcome to the smorgasbord, I went after the goods for my peeps.
My Dad couldn't resist snapping a picture as my arms were loaded with three, yes THREE, Carl's Jr. cheeseburgers and a DIET Coke. Breakfast of Champions!

This was just a nice one, I wanted to include.

Aren't cousins the best?

Judah loves his cousins! Landon Scott and little Audrey Kay.
Daddy and Judah love to play dress-up!

We have gotten to spend a lot of time at Wild West World. Kenton lives there during the week, but we get to go out and play a lot too.

Judah loves it. Especially here on the "Tippy Canoe." As the employee helped him off the ride she asked, "Did you have fun?" He looked her straight in the eyes and said, "Yeah! That ride tickled my penis!"
With a shocked expression I looked back at her with a loss of words, Kenton raised his hand and said, "I want to ride."
Ah... parenthood!

Memorial Day. Sageser Memorial Run. My Dad and I ran the first 7miles of a 15K together. It was a great day to honor a father and son who died this past fall.

Judah loved playing in the park near by with Daddy and NeeNee. He especially liked the spraying sunflowers!

We beat the rain and managed a trip to the zoo to see the new penguins for the first time. Uncle Scott, Aunt Tara, and Cousin Audrey came too.

The penguins were very cool. Uncle Scott spoiled the pants off Judah and let him feed the giraffes twice!
We strolled through the rest of the zoo noticing that it must be "the season for love." Birds were puffing their feathers, mates were making very interesting sounds, the frogs were really getting in to a game of "leap frog,"(I guess they would just call it "leap") and the little rodents were chasing each other in the jungle and as Judah said "trying to play piggy back."
All in all it was a great afternoon.
When we got home my sister sent us a picture, explaining that she had gone to the OKC Zoo with her son and her niece too. Her niece noticed that the tortoises were playing leap frog too. She sent me the picture. It was just too good to pass up!

Love really is in the air!

RIVERFEST!!

It's almost been four weeks since I posted about the Marathon. I figured since life has moved on, I better move on too. Sadly, the excitement has slightly faded and I'm going to have find a new challenge to have my heart stirred so violently again.
One last note on the experience (well.... probably not the last ever), as I looked back over the very quick year that's seemed roll by, I laughed that I haven't been running for a complete year yet. The funny part was that I would have rolled on the floor if some one would have came to me last year and told me a marathon was in my near future. Having no desire a year ago to be active in any sort, running definitely wasn't in my plans.
As I had to take it slow the last few weeks, in order to recover from the miles of running, I was able to look back and ask God why he did this with me. He promptly answered. I felt led to make sure I shared, because I know it wasn't just for me.
God told me that he had to get me to run a marathon, to get me to believe him. Get me to trust him. To get me convinced that,

"I Say Who You Are and What You Are Capable Of Doing."
For a thick headed, unfaithful, and self-loather like me, it did take a marathon. I'm grateful for the lesson. I've gotten to know the one whom I call Lord in such a deeper way. A way that is too intense for words. Intimacy I never knew existed. Care and protection that are found no where else.
But mostly, I can rest in the truth, that I was worth the trouble.
And you are too.
While you may be in the middle of your marathon or your battle, just rest assure that you are able and worthy of all that is promised to you.

Zechariah 2:8
"... Anyone who harms you, harms the Apple of My Eye."
Moving on as promised.....................
RiverFest 2007 has come and gone. Just as aways, it's a ton a people cramming into the heart of our fair city. We did manage to make to best of it and here's the proof!

My Dad and ran the 10k RiverRun. A first for me. After countless years of waiting at the finish line for my Dad, it was really special to run it with him. Still nursing some pains from the marathon, we trucked along and had a great time.
My Dad schooled me by a whole second. Not bad for a man TWICE my age!

Judah ran in the Tot Trot later that morning. After his St. Pat's Run meltdown, we enticed him with the promise of a Clif Bar upon his finish.
He gave it his all for the duration of 20 yards or so, and devoured his "running bar" as soon as he finished.
I was so proud of him. He wore his medal all day long!

We watched the Children's Theater's production of Wizard of Oz. Judah thought it was funny when the Cowardly Lion was startled and he was frightened when he thought Toto was a gonner. I loved watching Judah and Kenton enjoyed it so much, he fell asleep!

After getting in to the Exploration Place with our buttons, Judah and I checked out the newly completed Keeper of the Plains Bridge.

Previously when you asked Judah what he wanted be when he grew up he would say, " I just want to stay a little kid forever." Now he's decided he wants to be a fireman, specifically the one who sprays the water.
It was handy that the Firefighters museum was accepting buttons as admission and we could learn more about the history of his future profession.

Botanica hosted a garden party on Friday. Potting plants, getting a tattoo, and a "yelflow" balloon were an added bonus to being able to check out the gardens and listen to an orchestra.

And of course the Finale, the fireworks.
It was a nice cool evening in the park with the Berryman's, Marshall's, and Weishaar's.
Our kids played, we chatted, Kenton and James nearly killed themselves playing stuck in the mud, Jamie provided a stellar commentary on the light show, and true to form we bolted at the last spark to bet the traffic home! So long Riverfest! We'll eagerly await your return!
